The pocket clip of the S1R makes it possible to always keep it on you or to hang it in your tent/hammock etc. when you don’t need it, you can put it away by pulling it off.
The S1R has a 6061-T6 aerospace aluminum alloy with a flat magnetic tail cap that allows it to be secured to ferrous metal surfaces as a hands-free option.
The Olight S1R is IPX-8 tested which means that the flashlight has been tested for water resistance under conditions identified by the manufacturer. In this case, the manufacturer tested for 2 hours at a depth of 6.5ft / 2m of water. Keep in mind that this flashlight is not a product created for underwater use. It’s just very water resistant.
I must say I’m very satisfied with this flashlight. It’s very bright, small, lightweight and easy to recharge on the go. This makes it a very functional flashlight to have on me at all times. The many modes, waterproofness and solid design are making it a flashlight that comes in handy in many situations. The S1R is prized $64,95 at the moment which is very well prized in my opinion.
I must say that Olight has certainly succeeded in making the S1R, a usable flashlight with a good battery life/ run-time, brightness, reliability, size and weight. When in use, the flashlight gets warmer, this is because of the light boost it gives. I don’t have any problems with that whatsoever. In winter it might even come in handy as a hand warmer. Even for its small size it lies very comfortable in the hand. When you use the high brightness modes, including the turbo and turbo S modus, the flashlight’s battery will drain quite fast (Look at the photo above with the run-times). If you have a good source to recharge the battery, this is no problem at all!
I am quite amazed about this flashlights functionality and power, well done Olight!
